Got Midis?
If you'd like video game music midis (sound files) to play on your computer or iPod, then you've got to check out the Video Game Music Archive. An absolutely gigantic collection of midis for you to download!
All the game console systems and games are there: Nintendo, Sega, Playstation, Atari... even game music from old systems and computers like the Commodore 64 and the Amiga! You won't believe everything you'll find here!
OK... I can hear your next question! How can you get sheet music from midi files? Glad you asked! ;-)
You need music notation software to do the conversion for you. Most of the big name music notation software (Sibelius, Finale) can convert midis, but each program has it's own conversion methods and some are definitely better than others. You don't want sheet music that's unreadable!
The midi conversion software I like the best is from Notation Software. It's easy to use, and best of all, you can download a free trial that lets you use the full program for 30 days to see if you like it.
To get you started, Notation even has a directory with over 400 midi sites on the internet. Cool, eh?
Give it a go. You'll then have nearly unlimited sources for free sheet music -- every midi file, everywhere on the internet.
All these great music sources should keep you playing for a while! So happy practicing!
