Piano Art
and Pictures of Pianos
Ebony and Ivory Art Print
The right piano art and pictures of pianos will uplift and inspire you.
Every day!
When it comes to decorating, most of us focus on the big stuff. We think long and hard about carpet and wall color. We experiment with furniture arrangement. We even shop for the perfect accessories - lamps, fountains, pillows, candles.
But in most homes (and workplaces) - the walls are an unused resource!
In your practice room, a few well-chosen pieces of piano art can make a huge difference! Art can motivate you and make you smile. It can refresh you. Art can help you remember why you started playing piano in the first place.
At the very least, art adds beauty and color to walls.
Here you'll find tips for choosing the best piano art or music art for your practice room, study, or wherever you want to add a special musical touch.
Piano Art What's Your Theme?
Consider the overall theme of your practice room (or corner). This is your first clue when choosing art to compliment your space. Is your style:
Modern? Victorian? Eclectic? Rustic? Art Deco?
A romantic touch?

There are drawings, paintings, and photography out there for every style!
In addition, you can choose how you present your art. You can get it matted and framed for a traditional look, or mounted on wood for a more sleek, contemporary feel.
You can have your print applied to a canvas - it will look amazingly like a painting! Or you can simply have it laminated.

Piano Art How Much Space?
How much space do you have on your walls?
Perhaps you only have one wall of a room as your practice area. You might choose one large, striking piece like this one to center over the piano:
Grand Piano on a Concert Hall Stage, University of Hawaii
The simplicity of one piece of art can be striking.
You can also choose to fill a large area with a grouping of matched or similar pieces of art, such as three old sheet music covers. Or a couple of reproduction concert posters, if you're into a more contemporary feel.
If you have a classic room with antiques and a love of old things, you could draw inspiration from the masters:

Use Your Camera
Get artsy yourself. Grab your camera and take some shots of your piano. Get close-up on the keys, the inside mechanism, Turn the camera sideways.
If you have a digital camera, many cameras have the option to take pictures in black and white or even in sepia. Experiment and use your imagination!
Make a Collage
Got a piano book that the dog chewed or you spilled coffee on? Great. Use it to make art! Remember doing this as a kid?
Rip pages into interesting patterns. You can soak some pages in tea to give an antique effect (then let them dry). Paste on a piece of poster board or heavy paper. Glue on ribbons, buttons, or clippings cut from magazines. Print out piano quotes in interesting fonts.
Frame your creation in a shadowbox - now you're an artist AND a musician! :-)
